    Odontologyis the science and art healing the caries and non caries lesions – fractures, dystrophies, and dental depreciation lesions. This therapy of tooth reconstruction is part of prosthetics re-establishing the natural tooth wholeness. Our clinic provides old obturation replacement with physiognomic obturations. The old obturations (having metal appearance and being discolored) look generally bad and contain mercury, which is known to be harmful to the human body, whereas the new physiognomic obturations contain composite rosins which have the same color like the tooth and are long lasting.
   Odontal reconstructions can be direct (obturations) or indirect to single or more teeth (inlays, crowns, bridges).

Odontological reconstruction procedures include:
• metallic obturations;
• physiognomic obturations;
• inlays or indirect obturations – inlay and onlay (partial crown);
• bevellings;
• dental crowns and bridges;
• corono-root reconstructions.

   The most common tooth problem is the caries lesion. When being examined by the doctor, he/she must find out both the exact caries location and its severity by using a probe and by checking the tooth ex-rays up. Depending on the patient’s medical record, the caries location, the aesthetic needs and the characteristics of the obturation materials, the doctor will inform the patient about the necessary obturation type.

   The physiognomic obturation procedure starts with a local infiltration anesthesia if the caries lesions are large. At first, the doctor will cast the sick dental tissue out using dental cutters and will clean the cavity. In case the cavity is very close to the pulp chamber, the doctor will apply calcium hydroxide to stimulate healing and dentine generation between the pulp and the obturation.
   The cavity preparation ends with its degreasing, drying and acid etching. The use of acid liquor helps a rough surface to be generated, which is necessary to the obturation material adherence. The acid liquor is washed away after several minutes, the cavity is re-dried and the adhesive is affixed; the adhesive will be treated by the photo polymer lamp and then the obturation material will be applied. At present, the following physiognomic materials are being used: composite rosins, glass ionomers and ionomer rosins. The material is also bound by the photo polymer lamp after being shaped. In the end the doctor will polish the obturation until the tooth will have the initial shape by means of a tooth cutter.
